About Our Firm

For more than 30 years, Kundinger, Corder & Montoya, P.C. has been providing audit and tax services exclusively to not-for-profit organizations and is one of the leading accounting firms in Denver. We presently work with over 170 not-for-profit clients, and the eighteen professionals in the firm bring a wealth of experience to their clients - eight of our professionals have over nine years of experience. In addition, we provide general consulting specific to our client's not-for-profit needs.

By combining our expertise, experience and the team mentality of our staff, we assure that every client receives the close analysis and attention they deserve. Our dedication to high standards, hiring of qualified professionals, and work ethic is the reason our client base returns year after year.

Our Team

Thomas J. Kundinger, Retired, former Managing Director and Shareholder

Tom practiced public accounting since 1968 and was formerly the partner-in-charge of the nonprofit practice at KPMG Peat Marwick-Denver before starting KCM in 1991. Tom is a past-president of the Colorado Society of CPAs and a former instructor for AICPA and FASB courses on accounting for nonprofit organizations.

Maria M. Montoya, CPA, Managing Director and Shareholder

Maria joined Kundinger, Corder & Montoya, P.C. in July 1998 after receiving her Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, in Accounting from Regis University. Maria became a Director of the firm in 2010 and Managing Director on January 1, 2022. She currently serves on the board of Colorado Nonprofit Development Center, the Finance Committee of Mile High United Way, and the Leadership Advisory Committee of the Colorado Nonprofit Association. She previously served on the boards of Museo De Las Americas, Mi Casa Resource Center, Reach Out and Read Colorado, and Halcyon Hospice.

Steven R. Corder, CPA, CGMA, President and Shareholder

Steve is a former manager at KPMG Peat Marwick who began his public accounting career in 1984 and joined KCM in 1991. Steve is an instructor for various AICPA courses on auditing nonprofit organizations and was a board member of the Colorado Society of CPAs, serving as Board Chair from 2015-2016. Steve is a graduate of the University of Nebraska.

Tiffany K. Knight, CPA, Director and Shareholder

Tiffany graduated from Metropolitan State College of Denver and joined KCM in 2006, becoming a director in 2015. She currently serves on the Member Connections Committee, Nonprofit working Group, and is the audit committee chair for the Colorado Society of CPAs in addition to being a board member for their Educational Foundation. Tiffany is also the Treasurer for the Holistic Homestead and a member of the Finance Committee for Earthlinks. Tiffany is a Colorado native and loves calling Colorado home.

Kristin L. Calder, CPA, Director and Shareholder

Kristin began her public accounting career in Denver with Hanson and Co. in July 2006. She graduated from the University of Colorado and joined KCM in August 2009, becoming a director in 2018. She is on the Board of Directors and Audit and Compliance Committee for the Community First Foundation, the Finance Committee for the Women’s Bean Project, and volunteers for Friends of Retired Greyhounds. Kristin is a 5th generation Colorado native and loves everything that gets her outdoors.

Ken J. Fichter, CPA, Director

Ken is a 2005 graduate of Colorado State University, with a bachelor’s degree in Economics, and a 2014 graduate of Metropolitan State University of Denver’s Master of Professional Accountancy program. He joined KCM in July 2014 and became a director in 2022. Prior to joining KCM, Ken worked for eight years in the medical profession as a billing and accounting manager. Ken is a Colorado native and takes advantage of our beautiful summer months. Ken graduated from Leadfit in 2019, a leadership program through the Colorado Society of CPAs (COCPA), and he is a member of the COCPA Editorial Board.

Karen F. Snuffer, CPA, Senior Manager

Karen was an accountant at the Denver Art Museum from 1992 to 1999 and joined KCM in August 1999. She is a graduate of Regis University. Karen serves as the Financial Secretary of Applewood Community Church, is an adoption coordinator for Friends of Retired Greyhounds, and an on-call volunteer for the Severe Weather Shelter Network.

Judy R. Hartman, CPA, Manager

Judy is a graduate of Metropolitan State University of Denver’s Master of Professional Accountancy program and joined KCM in January 2016. She is a former treasurer for the Literacy Coalition of Colorado and enjoys baking, spending time with her family, and calling Colorado home.

Amanda S. Good, CPA, Manager

Amanda began her public accounting career in Columbia, Maryland, with UHY, LLP in July 2016. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma and joined KCM in April 2021. Amanda specializes in Single Audits and assists clients in determining new efficiencies in procedures and developing templates when new standards are implemented. She fosters dogs needing homes via a local non-profit animal rescue. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and camping with her ever-curious beagle.

Emma C. Bodine, CPA, Manager

Emma is a graduate of University of Colorado at Boulder and earned her Master of Professional Accountancy at Metropolitan State University of Denver. She joined KCM in January 2017 and currently serves on the board of Reach Out and Read Colorado.

Chris M. Battraw, CPA, CMA, Senior Auditor

Chris is a graduate of Metropolitan State University of Denver’s Master of Professional Accountancy program and joined KCM in July 2017.

Lynne E. Davis, CPA, Senior Auditor

Lynne joined KCM in 2018 after obtaining a B.A. in English from Colorado State University and the necessary credits to be CPA eligible from Metropolitan State University of Denver. She attained her CPA license and was promoted to senior staff in 2021. Lynne is an avid trail runner and fiction reader who proudly resides in a hunting cabin that was built in 1890.

Lauren N. Snyder, Senior Auditor

Lauren is a graduate of New Mexico State University and then earned her Master of Professional Accountancy at Metropolitan State University of Denver. She joined KCM in July 2019. Before joining KCM, Lauren worked as a paraprofessional, working with gifted and talented students in various capacities. She enjoys hiking, camping, and calling Colorado home.

Brett W. Turnacliff, Senior Auditor

Brett is a graduate of Metropolitan State University of Denver’s Master of Professional Accountancy program and joined KCM in September 2019.

Astride L. Mukabagula, Auditor

Astride is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and has a Master of Applied Science in Accounting. She joined KCM in January 2021.

Jacob L. Reynolds, Auditor

Jacob is a graduate of Regis University and joined KCM in June 2021.

Nicholas F. Foos, Auditor

Nicholas earned his Master of Accountancy degree from Texas Tech University in August 2021 and is currently seeking his Master of Business Administration. He joined KCM in March 2022.

Roxanne K. Rounsborg, Auditor

Roxanne is a 2022 graduate from the University of Colorado Denver where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. She joined KCM in April 2022.
